Managing a Position
After a position is open, you can adjust risk without closing and reopening the whole trade.
Add Collateral
Add more of the same stablecoin collateral to an active position.
- Position size stays the same
- Collateral increases
- Effective leverage decreases
- Liquidation price usually moves farther away
Use this when you want to make a position safer without changing its entry price.
Remove Collateral
Withdraw part of a position's collateral.
- Position size stays the same
- Collateral decreases
- Effective leverage increases
- Liquidation price moves closer
Atlas checks that the remaining collateral stays above the protocol minimum and that the new liquidation price keeps a safety buffer from the current oracle price.
Partial Close
Close only part of the position size while keeping the rest open.
- Remaining size decreases
- Entry price and open time stay the same
- No new trading fee is charged
- A proportional borrow fee is settled for the closed portion
If the partial close realizes a gain, the gain is paid to your wallet. If it realizes a loss, that loss is deducted from the remaining collateral.
Order Status and Cancellation
Position management actions are submitted as on-chain orders, just like opening or closing a position. You can track them in Pending Orders until they are processed.
If a management order has not been processed yet, you can cancel it from the order list and recover the locked funds.
